On December 2024, the Hungarian Film Festival took place at Netizen Budapest Hostel, offering a warm and inviting setting for an evening of storytelling With a cosy atmosphere, couches, and plenty of popcorn, the festival created a true cinematic experience that brought together a diverse audience Attendees included long-time Erasmus participants who had been with us from the beginning, as well as newcomers living in Budapest and international travelers staying at the hostel.
The festival showcased the powerful documentaries, photographs, and stories created throughout the Citizenship in Action project From the “Active Citizenship Through Photography” training in Budapest to the “Active Citizenship Through Videography” training in Brno and the “Young People in Action” mobility in Peniche, the work on display captured the essence of different communities and the importance of visual storytelling Additionally, the festival featured results from local initiatives in Hungary, including content created with citizens of Budapest that highlighted Hungarian culture and a documentary made in Balatonszemes These contributions enriched the event, demonstrating the depth and diversity of perspectives captured throughout the project.
